NO OPEN DAYS till further notice !
However, the nursery will briefly open for SALES ONLY on
Sunday 27th September 2020 (9am – 2pm)
AND Sunday 4th October 2020 (9am – 2pm)
Many people have had both these dates locked in for over a year. We generally hold our Spring Open Day on the last Sunday in September. However the proposed change of date for the Collector’s Plant Fair (which has since been postponed to April 2021 anyway) forced us to move a week later. This gives people the opportunity of buying Clivias in flower (as well as bromeliads and selected orchids) that they would ordinarily miss. Also we cannot advise all potential attendees, not everyone looks at websites. We may be restricted on numbers at the nursery (which is my parents’ home), so we ask people arrive, select, buy and leave to enjoy the rest of your day! I also ask those attending to wear a mask, and I will provide hand sanitiser on a table in the driveway.
If you are after something in particular, email me a few days beforehand at email@example.com
Hills District Orchids hold four seasonal Open Days throughout the year. These have proved very popular for both orchid enthusiasts and general plant lovers for filling the niche that has been left after the closure of several previous full-time retail specialist nurseries in the Sydney Region. The informal atmosphere provides an ideal opportunity to discuss and purchase plants and observe first-hand their growing conditions. There are numerous experts on hand to provide advice and answer any orchid & plant-related questions.
Due to Covid-19 we no longer provide a BBQ or tea & coffee facilities.
The Open Days start at 9.00am until 3.00pm.
The seasonal Open Days for 2021 are planned for:
Autumn: last Sunday in February 28 February 2021
Winter: last Sunday in July 25 July 2021
Spring: last Sunday in September 26 September 2021
Summer: first Sunday in December 5 December 2021
As there is no parking at the nursery, please park in either Mary Street or Windermere Avenue. It’s only a very short walk past a few houses. Windsor Road is also on the main bus route between Parramatta and Baulkham Hills/Castle Hill. Westbus Operate from Parramatta railway station. To plan your trip on public transport visit www.131500.info
